About

Built by a Live Player Who Got Tired of Homework.

A messy mid-hand pot on a live $1/2 table

PokerThangs exists because of a simple observation from hundreds of hours at Michigan card rooms: the games people actually play and the games training apps prepare them for are two different sports.

The training industry optimizes for what's easy to teach — solver frequencies, clean pot geometry, chart memorization. Meanwhile the actual $1/2 game runs on $18 opens that get three callers, a guy named Rocket jamming his last $89, and the single most profitable skill in the room being the walk you take before you pick a table. Nobody was training that. So we built the thing that does.

What We Believe

The Honest Part

PokerThangs is a small, independent product — a GeekThangs joint out of Metro Detroit — not a venture-funded content mill. That's why there's a real free tier, why pricing is a number and not a "book a call," and why the roadmap is voted on by the people paying for it. If something in the trainer is wrong, tell us and we'll fix the math in public.

The Whole Pitch in One Line: train for the game that's actually in front of you.
